With the dies, I enjoy the cut's speed and quality. However, If I get too enthusiastic, I can spend quite some money buying new dies for new projects. In the case of digital files, I like the versatility and the fact that I can change the design easily and fast to my liking.

In addition, consider if you're a person who likes to learn new software. Cricut Design Space isn't too difficult to work with, but you still need some time to invest in learning it.

Comparison of Warranty and Customer Support
Considering the warranty and customer support, both Cricut and Sizzix are dedicated to providing excellent assistance and backing for their machines.
Most of the Big Shot machines come with 1-year limited warranty as standard. This can be extended to 3 years, free of charge, by registering your machine on the Sizzix website. Cricut provides a 1-year warranty. Find more information on Cricut warranty.
As for customer service, I don't have any experience with Sizzix customer service as I didn't need it in more than 2 years that I have the machine. On the other hand, I had to contact Cricut once. They don't have any support in the Czech Republic, and I had to call the US. It was difficult to find the right time, considering the time difference. Also, I had to pay a considerable amount for the call. The problem was resolved, but it took some time. Some customers on the Internet complain of long waiting times when calling Cricut's customer support. This wasn't my case.

5. Projects for Cricut and Sizzix
Find a selection of my Cricut and Sizzix projects. As I craft with felt, these projects are felt crafts. I use my Cricut more than my Sizzix. This is due to the nature of my projects which are new felt craft patterns. This year I bought steel rule dies with the idea of using the Big Shot more, however didn't really got to it. And I consider the price of different dies high for how much I use them.

Cricut machines may have a higher initial cost and you should count with a regular investment into new cutting mats and potentially blades. Also, Cricut offers a wide range of accessories and materials that I want to have all :) and can add up over time. Sizzix machines, on the other hand, may have a lower upfront cost, but the cost of dies and embossing folders can add up as you expand your collection. Metal dies can be quite costly, especially larger background dies. You must consider whether you will use a die frequently enough to justify purchasing it.
Secondly, the quality of cuts made with a metal die is superior to those made with a Cricut.
Thirdly, a metal die has a fixed size, whereas a Cricut can cut the same image in various sizes depending on your needs.
Fourthly, with an electronic die cutting machine you have more creative options, but sometimes, it can be harder to get the settings right. For example, you need to select the right material (blade's pressure) depending on the type of felt you use (wool felt vs 100% PES felt).
Fifthly, don’t limit yourself to just Cricut. I’d look at the Silhouette Cameo as well. I don’t have Silhouette Cameo myself, so it’s difficult to compare Cricut to Silhouette, but I know some crafters prefer Silhouette Cameo over Cricut Maker.
Additionally, consider if you don't mind learning new software (Cricut Design Space). Cricut machines require the use of their Design Space software, while Sizzix Big Shot just needs your hands. For Design Space to run properly, ensure checking the system requirements and speed of internet.
Finally, consider if you do repetitive projects or if you try something new every time. Sizzix machines are known for their ease of use and ability to quickly replicate projects usizng the dies you have, while Cricut machines are popular among those who prefer to experiment and try new designs.
